Gastronomy at the Dorint Maison Messmer Baden-Baden
Johann Baptist Messmer built a country house in 1833 on a hill in the exclusive city of Baden-Baden, right next to the later “Kurhaus” and casino. By 1834, the Maison Messmer was already a “must-stay” location for higher clients. Starlets, diplomats, and writers enjoyed their time back then in the Maison Messmer.
Within the space of a few years, the Maison Messmer became the summer residence of German and European politicians, and it was to remain the summer residence of the German imperial couple for more than 40 years. Over time, the couple hosted Queen Victoria, Empress Elisabeth of Austria, and the Russian imperial family in the residence.
The wonderful hosting tradition of the Maison Messmer continues until this day. It is always a pleasure for our team to welcome you in our traditional Maison Messmer.
Our head chef Christian Fritzinger stands for a modern interpretation of tasteful and excellent cuisine. Modern cooking techniques and a blend of regional and international products are among his key principles. But the taste is as important to him as the presentation of his dishes.
The “Smokers Lounge”, which is located next to the fireside bar, is a special highlight, where you can enjoy a drink together with a cigar in a pleasant atmosphere.
Enjoy everything from gastronomic variety in the rustic-romantic “Theaterkeller” and the fireside bar to a very elegant and high-class evening in our “Salon JB Messmer”. We have the perfect locations for an after-dinner drink or for your meal before the show at the Baden-Baden Theater.
We are looking forward to welcoming you!
